On May 1st, 2018, the Bend FC Timbers excitedly welcomed our newest sponsor for the Junior Academy, Muzzo Chiropractic. Muzzo Chiropractic is owned and operated by Dr. Sean Scaramuzzo, who provides mobile chiropractic services in Bend, Redmond, and Prineville. Yes, you read that right...Muzzo Chiropractic is one of the only practices that provides a completely mobile service in Central Oregon and thanks to this partnership, will now be available to provide onsite consultation as well as chiropractic evaluations and adjustments at training sessions to Bend FC Timbers club members. In addition to training sessions, Muzzo Chiropractic will be present at Bend FC Timbers tournaments and events.
About the owner:
As a native Texan, Dr. Sean Scaramuzzo graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in 2009, before promptly moving to Oregon to begin his chiropractic career. In 2010, he received his license to practice in the state of Oregon and moved to Central Oregon in 2012 to open his own practice. Since his arrival in Central Oregon, he has been able to help several clients suffering from a variety of health conditions, many of whom are competitive and recreational athletes.
About the partnership:
In addition to being a chiropractor Dr. Sean has been coaching with the Bend FC Timbers Junior Academy since the Summer of 2013. He has received his USSF-E License and National Youth License to coach the young soccer players. This has provided him with a deeper understanding of the developmental stages for youth athletes both physically and mentally.
Dr. Sean states, “I’m excited for this partnership to be able to offer more ways for our young athletes to achieve optimal health and wellness and to maximize their potential for success on and off the fields.”
Whether the athlete is seeking care for relief from the chronic pain that can come from overuse of the body, assistance with recovering from an injury or simply to maintain peak performance, Dr. Sean focuses on the individual needs of each person and their goals for holistic health and wellness. Being a mobile chiropractor allows him the opportunity to see each person in their environment (especially the training environments) which allows him make accurate assessments of the obstacles facing each individual athlete. These roadblocks often keep the person from progressing and maximizing their potential, which can greatly impact their overall health.
About the future:
In recent years, we are seeing chiropractic care become an increasingly important part of the health care team at the professional level. However, its use at the youth level is taking longer to be implemented and we are just starting to see chiropractors engaging with youth athletic organizations on a consistent basis to educate what chiropractic is and how it will help a developing child stay healthy.
“Education will be the most important aspect of this partnership so that each player will have more knowledge on how they can lead a healthy life. Knowledge is power, and can lead anyone to success,” explained Dr. Sean.
