Bringing a world-class athletic complex to Bend

Help us build a quality training facility for YOUR kids BY 2020!

The Build It Forward Campaign is a 10-year project to transform 8 acres of Bend Park & Recreation’s Pine Nursery Community Park into a world-class, all-season, athletic facility.

•  Phase I, Fall 2018-2020, field design and engineering, site work construction, build 2 synthetic turf fields, purchase goal/field equipment, install outdoor lighting, and fencing.

•  Phase II & III, 2020-2025 construct the remaining 2 synthetic turf fields, clubhouse and fixtures, landscaping, and misc. infrastructure.

More than 3,000 Central Oregon boys and girls participate in competitive and recreational soccer programs through Bend FC Timbers.  Currently, our competitive team games are being played in Redmond, as a result, we are turning kids and tournaments away due to a lack of capacity of playing fields in Bend. During major stretches of the year, there is virtually no usable space due to weather and a lack of light for our kids.  As a result, a group of dedicated volunteers formed the Build It Forward Capital Campaign, a public/private partnership between Bend FC Timbers and Bend Park and Recreation.  To better serve our growing community, the Campaign is an investment in our economy, and it will give more children and adults the opportunity to be active in healthy, outdoor team sports.

World class sporting events fuel vibrant economies. Hosting tournaments and training on state-of-the-art all-season athletic fields will draw visitors from Oregon and other states to experience all that Central Oregon has to offer. So the opportunity to create something that is a consistent engine of economic activity – much like the Bend Whitewater Park & Colorado Dam Safe Passage and The Pavilion, which are other examples of this creative public/private partnership model with Bend Parks & Recreation District.

Your gift will directly fund the construction of four turf fields, provide our youth with a safe, year-round place to learn and develop as athletes, and host tournaments to boost the local economy.  Kids want to play soccer and we want to provide them a home in which to train and compete year round.  We are committed to making this field project a reality to ensure accessibility for everyone and accommodate our growing sports community.
