TRAINING POOL PLAYER OPPORTUNITIES
Missed the tryouts back in July? New to the area? There are opportunities to join a BFCT Academy HS age team (U15-U19) team throughout the year. Most of those opportunities begin by joining the club as a training pool player. For more information read below.

TRAINING POOL PLAYERS Q&A
The club regularly receives inquiries from prospective players while we are 'in season' or the soccer year has already begun. Examples include families who have recently moved to Central Oregon or players who have recently reignited that 'soccer spark' and want back in! We don't want to turn down any boy or girl who is passionate about soccer and wants to join our club. So, we regularly invite newcomers out to train with our competitive U15-U19 teams. It's a 'two way' experience. The player can find out if it's the soccer environment and level they are looking for and our coaching staff can 'take a look' at the player as well. There are a number of next steps, and that is where we'll start the 'Q&A:'
Q: Are these new players getting to train with a BFCT team for free?
A: Yes, but only once or twice. We then offer these players a few options, all of which come with a fee.
Q: What are those options?
A: If we have room on a given roster and the respective coach has 'seen enough' to be comfortable with adding the player to the team, we offer a 'full' spot on that team for the new player! If a team's roster is full we may offer the player a 'training pool' spot (more on that below) to continue practicing with the group (no playing time in matches is offered unless the team is in definite need on a given match day).
Q: If there are multiple teams within the HS program, which team are they placed on?
A: All U15+ newcomers are placed on the team that is apporpriate for their LEVEL of play rather than their age (provided they are not too OLD for the proper placement and there is room on the best suited team).
Q: How much do 'training pool' players pay to join a BFCT team just for practice?
A: They pay $75/month. Training pool players must also promptly order the full BFCT training kit.
