Expectations

Central Oregon Soccer League 2024 will play games on both Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season and some weekends teams will play games on both Saturday or Sunday. This is due to field availability, growth, and weather.

Requests

  • Coach requests will be accepted but NOT guaranteed. Any requests that we are able to accommodate will be done so on a first come, first served basis (by timestamp of registration).
  • Requests to play for a school outside of your neighborhood school zone will be accepted but NOT guaranteed. All players within a neighborhood school will be placed on their respective school teams before any requests are considered. Requests are accommodated on a first come, first served basis (by timestamp of registration).
  • In the spirit of recreational soccer, friend requests will not be accepted.  Teams will be made first by school, then by coach request when possible.
  • Full roster requests from a coach will only be accepted for grades 6-8. Coaches must be signed up and have all compliance requirements (background check, SafeSport Training, Concussion Training) met before roster requests will be accepted.

Practice Information

  • Practice days for grades 3-8 will be either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
  • Grades 1 & 2 will practice one day per week (Monday-Friday)
  • Practice times for grades 1-8 will be one of the following:

At BPRD Fields…..3-4pm, 4-5pm, 5-6pm, 6-7pm, 7-8pm

At BLS Fields, … 3:30-4:30pm, 4:30-5:30pm, 5:30-6:30pm, 6:30-7:30pm

*Private school fields TBD on availability

  • PreK/Kinder teams will not practice during the week.  These teams will have a 30-minute practice right before their scheduled weekend game.
  • We will not know which fields we are allowed to use from Bend Parks and Rec or Bend- La Pine Schools until 03/05/2024, so therefore, we cannot create and release practice schedules until after that date.
  • Field conditions are managed by the entities we rent them from.  We do our best to reserve fields that are safe and well-maintained, however, conditions at the fields vary from year to year and we often do not know of issues until after the season has begun. Safety concerns at fields will be addressed to the best of our ability and if need be, moving teams to alternate fields may be necessary if it is determined that a location does not meet the standards required for safe, enjoyable practice/play.
  • Fields DO NOT have goals.  Pop-up goals may be available on request.
  • If players are unable to attend a practice, they should communicate this to the coach as soon as possible so they may plan their practice accordingly.
  • Players should arrive to practice on time, with a water bottle, shin guards and appropriate attire for the weather.
  • Cleats are optional for PreK/Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Communication Expectations

  • PlayMetrics is our new club operating system. When you register for COSL, you created a PlayMetrics login and profile. Once your player is placed on a team, you will use PlayMetrics for team communication. We recommend you download the PlayMetrics app and watch your spam for emails from us @bendfc.playmetrics.com
  • To minimize the amount of emails being sent out, information will be posted directly to the COSL page on our website. Though there will be email updates, please be diligent about checking the website for important information.
  • When you can expect to hear from your volunteer coach will depend on whether or not your team has a volunteer coach assigned when rosters are created. If your team does not have a volunteer coach that will be communicated through PlayMetrics to everyone on the team roster. If at any time you would like to volunteer to coach, please email the COSL Coordinator at COSL@bendfc.com

Lost and Found

Bend FC and COSL are not responsible for items left at league game fields or practice fields. As possible, items left will be taken to the Bend FC turf complex at Pine Nursery and placed in the black and yellow lost and found containers at the west of the complex. If you find something of value left at a field, please email our COSL coordinator at cosl@bendfc.com.

By registering for any youth or adult program within Bend FC or Central Oregon Soccer league, you consent to receiving electronic communications pertaining to club updates, fundraisers, and events. Please note that Bend FC reserves the right to engage outside organizations for fundraisers and event coordination. Bend FC does not engage in the sale of contact information. Bend FC and its registered members are members of US Soccer via USYS or US Club and may receive additional communication from partner organizations.
