JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY U8-U10

The second phase of our competitive program pyramid is our Junior Development Academy (JDA). The Bend FC JDA is the club's 'bridge' between our developmental and recreational leagues and our competitive youth program. The Junior Development Academy's 2024-25 program is for players born from 2015 - 2017 who want a more competitive and consistent training environment. The JDA kicks off in June each year. Players must register to participate, but there are no tryouts.

Beginning with the 2024-25 season, the JDA will operate, as our Competitive Academy does, in a full-year format. Winter Futsal (indoor) will now be included in the year-long program. Teams will train once per week indoors at the Bend FC Futsal Center from early December through mid-February. This change benefits all players by allowing everyone to continue training during the winter months. Futsal is extremely beneficial in a player's development, especially during the early phases, by focusing on technical skills and development.

JDA is broken into four seasons: summer, fall, winter, and spring. During summer, fall, and spring, teams practice outdoors two times per week for 75 minutes each. Players train in groups that are separated by age and ability, working with assigned age group coaches each season. From those groups, the JDA Director and Coaches create boys and girls teams that will participate in the Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) U10 Valley League. Games are played on a size-appropriate field with seven players per side (including goalkeepers). These teams are created based on age, ability, and player availability. The Valley League uses a "jamboree" style where teams play multiple games in one day. The league includes teams from Bend, Eugene, Salem, and Corvallis. There are 4 such playdates during the fall and again in the spring. One in Bend and three "away" destinations give players and families a taste of travel soccer without the overnight commitment.

During the summer, teams will compete in our Bend Premier Cup soccer tournament. Registration and coach travels costs for league games and the summer tournament are included in player fees.

The JDA season fee, per player, is $1,295 and includes June 2024 through May 2025 activities. Please note, this does not include the required uniform kit that is to be worn at games and a training jersey for weekly training sessions. Please see the FAQ page for more details
