Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct has been established to ensure the principles of sportsmanship, fair play, and mutual respect among  players, coaches, officials, and spectators. All Bend FC club policies, rules, and parent agreements shall be  followed and agreed too. Bend FC is a member of Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) and US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and follows policies the set forth by our governing organizations.


Coaches are expected to: 

  • Know the official league rules.
  • Always respect the game officials. Refrain from questioning their decisions or challenging them.
  • Exhibit sportsmanship.
  • Respect the opposing coaches, players, and parents.
  • Take appropriate steps to minimize scoring in runaway games. 
  • Exhibit sportsmanship, be humble and generous in victory, and courteous in defeat. 
  • Maintain control of his/her emotions and avoid actions, language, and/or gestures that may be interpreted as  hostile and humiliating. 
  • Teach and practice good sportsmanship and fair play by personally demonstrating commitment to these virtues. 


Players 

  • Maintain control of emotions, avoiding the use of abusive or profane language, taunting or humiliating remarks, and/or gestures 
  • Respect the coaches and players of the opposing team and display sportsmanship at the conclusion of games and be  humble and generous in victory and proud and courteous in defeat. 
  • No violent or deliberate fouls. 


Parents 

  • Refrain from coaching from the sidelines. 
  • Show respect and courtesy to game officials, coaches, players, and opposing parents and players.
  • Respect the game officials and refrain from questioning their decisions or from addressing them.
  • Cheer for your player’s team in a positive manner, refraining from making negative or abusive remarks.
  • Maintain control of your emotions and avoid actions, language, and gestures that may be interpreted as hostile and/or humiliating. 
  • Demonstrate appropriate sportsmanship at the conclusion of every game, win or lose. 
  • Teach and practice good sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Refrain from using any language that would be considered offensive in nature including all forms of profanity.



Violations of the Code of Conduct 

Violations of the Code of Conduct should be reported to the Club Executive Director, Director of Coaching, or General Manager. The forementioned will  conduct a review and present the findings to the Disciplinary Committee. Actions may range from warning, personal apology,  probation, suspension, or expulsion from the club. Players, spectators, parents, and coaches who are members of Bend FC are responsible for their actions.
