FUTURE STARS u6-U7
Run by members of our professional coaching staff, Bend FC Future STARS is a free program open to boys and girls in the u6 and u7 (2020 & 2019) age groups who have an early passion for soccer.
The program introduces the Bend FC pyramid, which illustrates the club levels and provides a snapshot of how young players will advance through our club system and receive age-appropriate soccer curriculum as they go.
During Future STARS practices, players are taught fundamental soccer skills and then placed into small-sided (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4) games to use those skills on the field. Traditional recreation programs play 6v6, 7v7, or 8v8, but we believe that fewer players on the field ensures each player gets more touches on the ball and plays a bigger part in the game.
Coaches will follow a curriculum so players are learning new skills each week within small-sided games. The player-centered environment of the Future STARS program ensures that players have the opportunity to experiment, try new skills, and make their own decisions. There is no officiating and players keep score (or not), with an emphasis on trying new skills rather than winning.
Our staff are all licensed soccer coaches with the experience and training to work with these young players. They'll teach them fundamental and important techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting, receiving, and 1v1 play in a positive, energetic, and welcoming environment. We believe our youngest players should have fun and learn new skills so they build confidence as soccer players. We want to create a long-lasting love of the game and players who want to play for the club for many years ahead.
The Future STARS session is on two dates this Spring: June 5th, 2026, and June 12th, 2026, for players born in 2019 and 2020. These sessions will be from 4 pm-5 pm on Fridays at the Bend FC Turf Complex at Pine Nursery Park.
